Celebrity Crushes: Who do Brits Fancy in 2021?

According to a recent report, over the past year, Brits have collectively watched more television than at any other point in history.

Between binging boxsets, newscasts, soap operas, breakfast shows and documentaries, all that time spent in front of the screen has clearly caused some to develop feelings for those with famous faces.

To find out who Brits fancy the most, we surveyed 2,002 respondents. These are the results.

Hottest Television Personality, Male

We asked our respondents to name the television personality they fancy the most. This could be anyone who is predominately known for their television work.

And rising to the occasion is resident Bake-Off hunk, Paul Hollywood, taking home 15.4% of the vote.

ITV’s Ben Shephard and Match of the Day’s Gary Lineker came 2nd and 3rd, with 13.2% and 10.8% of the vote respectively.

Piers Morgan beat fellow ITV host Declan Donnelly into the top 5 by just 0.4%.

Well, according to the British public, it is none other than Domestic Goddess, Nigella Lawson. Earning a very healthy 18.8% of the vote, Nigella beats off competition from Amanda Holden (2nd) and Holly Willoughby (3rd).

Ground Force’s Charlie Dimmock narrowly misses out on the top 5, securing 7.6% of the vote.

Unconventional Crushes

We then asked our survey respondents to state which celebrities or public figures they secretly fancy but wouldn’t like to admit to, out of embarrassment. We coined this feeling an ‘unconventional crush’.

And based on the responses, the UK has the hots for Pointless host, Richard Osman and Apprentice Star, Karren Brady! With 13.6% and 20.2% of the votes respectively, the two finish higher than 2nd placed politicians Andy Burnham and Priti Patel.

It would seem the UK has a crush on a number of political figures as SNP Leader, Nicola Sturgeon and UK Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab also made it into the top 10 male and female unconventional crush lists.
